Abstract

This study aims to find out which factors that more have a role to students in participating extracurricular activities at school. The results showed that 1) as many as (68%) students in a very high level of motivation, (31%) students in a high level of motivation and (1%) students in a sufficient level of motivation and they had an average (83.08%) which means very high motivation level. 2) In the intrinsic motivation showed that (62.94%) students in a very high level, (32.17%) students in a high level, (2.80%) students in a sufficient level and (2, 09%) students in a low level and they had an average (80.88%) which means it were very high. In each indicator of intrinsic motivation, the indicators of talent reach (80.07%), achievement (74.12%), knowledge (62.90%), health (94.05%), hobbies (92.13%). 3) Whereas in the extrinsic motivation as many as (74.80%) students in a very high level, (24.50%) students in a high level, (0.70%) students in a sufficient level and they had an average (85.80%) which means very high. In each indicator of extrinsic motivation, the indicators of parents reach (86.71%), teacher (92.30%), friends (82.28%), facilities and infrastructures (89.86%), environment (74.59%).
Based on the results of the study, it concluded that extrinsic motivation more has important role in motivating students to participate sports extracurricular activities at school with an average percentage about (85.80%).
