Abstract

The goal to be achieved in this research is to find out whether there is any influence of anxiety/anxiety related to the news of Covid-19 through social media on parents and badminton athletes in Tegal Regency. This study used correlational quantitative methods with 136 samples consisting of 68 parents and 68 athletes. The samples used were all athletes and parents at 3 Badminton Clubs in Tegal Regency. The results obtained for the results of the questionnaire test for athletes showed that there were 22 athletes in the Very Good category, 38 athletes in the moderate category and none in the poor category. The correlation of parents' social media with the results of the questionnaire test for parents found that as many as 30 parents were in the Very Good category, 34 parents were in the Good category, 4 parents were in the Medium category and none in the poor category. The conclusions in this study can be concluded that social media reporting related to Covid-19 has a positive influence and relationship or has an effect on anxiety/anxiety on athletes and parents of badminton athletes in Tegal Regency. The advice that researchers can give is for parents not to be easily influenced by news related to Covid-19 on social media that is not yet true for certainty.
