Degradation Remazol Black B using TiO2 Photocatalyst

The purpose of this study is the degradation of methylene blue dye using TiO2 photocatalyst  as well as the effect of the calcination temperature and radiation are the formation of  TiO2. TiO2 prepared by sol-gel method. The type of light used is UV light. Furthermore, the cloth is dipped in a solution containing TiO2 for 1 minute, then the fabric is pressurized at 1.25 kg cm-2 for 5 minutes. Then the coated fabric that has been heated at 60°C in an oven, then the fabric is heated at 100°C for 5 minutes. Further degradation test conducted with stains Remazol Black B and laying in the water for 12 hours. From the observation of color to the study it can be concluded that the TiO2-coated fabric that has been there a sufficient photocatalytic effect on the fabric. Maximum calcination temperature to form anatase TiO2 is 600C. TiO2 coating system will soak up to 9x coating. It can be concluded in this experiment that the fabric is coated with TiO2 has a photocatalytic effect that makes the fabric anti-dirty, anti-odor and anti-bacterial effects of the photocatalyst photocatalyst although the effect of the cloth.
