The Effectiveness of Learning Cycle 5e Based on Brainstorming to Increase Mathematical Communication and Self Confidence on Quadrilateral
Abstract
The aims of this research as follows. (1) To know that mathematical communication’s mean of the experiment class reach minimum completeness criterion or not with more than 85% of the students who reach the minimum completeness criterion. (2) To know the mathematical communication ability of the experiment class and the control class. (3) To know the influence of self confidence to the mathematical communication ability. (4) To know the improvement of mathematical communication ability in the experiment class. (5) To know the improvement of self confidence in the experiment class. The population of this research was the seventh graders of Syubbanul Wathon Junior High School Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia in the academic year of 2014/2015. The sample was gained by cluster sampling. The results of this research were as follows. (1) There was more than 85% of the students reached the individual minimum completeness criterion. (2) The mathematical communication ability of the experiment class was better than the control class. (3) The regression between self confidence to the mathematical communication ability was 68,2%. (4) There was an improvement of mathematical communication ability with . (5) There was an improvement of self confidence with in the experiment class.
