Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku panduan menulis teks eksplanasi untuk
meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa kelas V SDN Sidomulyo Kabupaten Purworejo. Penelitian ini
menggunakan pendekatan penelitian pengembangan (R&D) berdasarkan teori Sugiyono yang telah
disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan penelitian menjadi delapan tahap pelaksanaan. Hasil penelitian ini
menunjukkan bahwa: (1) buku panduan yang dikembangkan sesuai angket kebutuhan siswa dan guru;
(2) buku panduan valid berdasarkan validasi dari ahli materi dan ahli media. Didapat persentase 82%
dengan kategori sangat layak dari ahli materi dan persentase 82,5% dengan kategori sangat layak dari
ahli media; (3) persentase tanggapan guru setelah menggunakan buku panduan secara klasikal sebesar
90,38% dengan kriteria sangat baik, persentase tanggapan siswa secara klasikal sebesar 87,82% dengan
kriteria sangat baik; (4) buku panduan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi,
hasil analisis perbedaan rata-rata uji-t sebesar 7,940 dan peningkatan rata-rata (gain) sebesar 0,41 dengan
kriteria sedang. Simpulan hasil penelitian ini yaitu buku panduan layak digunakan dalam kegiatan
pembelajaran.


This study aimed to develop guidebook explanatory text for improving writing skills of 5th Sidomulyo Elementary
School of Purworejo Regency. This study used a Development Research approach (R&D) based on Sugiyono's theory
that has been adapted to the study needs into seven stages of implementation . The results of this study indicated that:
(1) the guidebook was developed in accordance with the questionnaire of the needs of students and teachers ; (2) the
guidebook was valid based on validation from material experts and media experts. A percentage of 82.5% was
obtained with a decent category of material experts and a percentage of 82% with a decent category from media
experts; (3) the percentage of teacher responses after using the guidebook classically was as much as 90.38% with a very
good criterion, while the percentage of students responses classically was 87.82% with a very good criterion; (4) the
guidebook was effective for explanatory writing lesson, the results of the analysis of the average difference in the t-test
was 7.940 and the increase in the average gain was 0.41 with a medium criterion. The conclusion of this study was
that the guidebook was suitable for learning activities.
