Abstract

Di kota Kudus provinsi Jawa Tengah – Indonesia, ditemukan banyak sekali rumah-rumah adat yang memiliki motif/corak geometris. Namun, tidak semua orang dapat melihat bahwa rumah tersebut atau bagian-bagiannya memiliki motif geometris. Untuk dapat mengamati secara teliti, apakah rumah-rumah adat dan bagian-bagian rumah adat memiliki motif geometris, diperlukan suatu kemampuan tertentu, yaitu kemampuan Spasial Geometris. Bangun-bangun geometris yang merupakan ornamen rumah adat di kudus tersebut memiliki nilai budaya yang tinggi dan perlu dijaga kelestariannya. Memelihara dan menjaga produk-produk budaya, bermotif geometris, sudah kuno karena usia, dan langka, merupakan bentuk sikap dan perilaku yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal. Berdasarkan hasil survey dan penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan spasial geometris sangat diperlukan sebagai basis untuk menemukan berbagai ornamen rumah adat di kudus yang memiliki sentuhan Arsitektur Geometris. Keberadaan rumah-rumah adat tersebut layak untuk dijaga dan dipelihara demi kelestarian budaya sebuah bangsa.
