Aktivitas Pembelajaran Matematika yang Dapat Melatih Kemampuan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi Siswa

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang dibutuhkan siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan dunia global. Proses pembelajaran di kelas memiliki peran besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Namun demikian, kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi bukan merupakan dampak langsung dari suatu proses pembelajaran. Kemampuan ini terbangun melalui lingkungan pembelajaran yang memfasilitasi siswa untuk mendayagunakan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tingginya.  Oleh karena itu, kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi harus dilatih dan dikembangkan melalui pembelajaran di kelas. Aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran yang dapat melatih kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi tersebut adalah: (1) berbagi ide matematika melalui diskusi kelompok; (2) mengidentifikasi dan  merumuskan hal-hal penting dari masalah; (3) penyelidikan dan pemecahan masalah; (4) mengkomunikasikan hasil pemecahan masalah; (5) mengevaluasi hasil dan menarik kesimpulan. Sementara itu, aktivitas guru yaitu: (1) menyajikan masalah; (2) mengorganisasikan siswa dalam kelompok belajar; (3) memberikan scaffolding (bantuan) selama proses penyelidikan hingga pada tahap penarikan kesimpulan; dan (4) menggunakan pertanyaan-pertanyaan tingkat tinggi.
