Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPS melalui model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dengan media audio visual pada siswa kelas IV. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kelas yang berlangsung dalam tiga siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes, observasi, dokumentasi dan catatan lapangan. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) keterampilan guru pada siklus I memperoleh skor 21 (baik), siklus II skor 25 (baik), dan siklus III memperoleh skor 29 (sangat baik), 2) aktivitas siswa pada siklus I memperoleh jumlah rata-rata skor 19,93 (baik), siklus II memperoleh jumlah rata-rata skor 22,3 (baik), dan sikus III memperoleh jumlah rata-rata skor 26,23 (sangat baik), 3) hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I mengalami ketuntatasan klasikal sebesar 79 %, siklus II sebesar 85 %, dan siklus III sebesar 91 %. Simpulan: penerapan model CIRC dengan media audio visual dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPS.

 

The purpose of this research was to improve the quality of learning in social subject for the 4th grade students through Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) with audio visual media. The research was designed using classroom action research in three cycles includes planning, acting, observing, and classroom reflecting. Data collection techniques used were test, observation, documentation and observation sheet. The data were analyzed by qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of research showed: 1) the skills of teachers in the first cycle obtained 21 (good), the second cycle incrased to 25 (good), and the third cycle obtained 29 (very good), 2) the activity of students in the first cycle obtained average score 19,93 (good), the second cycle got 22,3 (good), and the third cycles increased to be 26.23 (very good), 3) the classical completeness of students learning outcome in the first cycle got 79%, the second cycle obtained 85 %, and the third cycle obtained 91 %. Conclusion: The application of the model CIRC with audio visual media can improve social studies instructional quality.
