PENGEMBANGAN KOMIK PENCEMARAN LINGKUNGAN SEBAGAI SUMBER BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VII SMP

Abstract
This study aimed to develop a valid Environmental Pollution comics used as a student learning source of class VII SMP. This is a research and development study. The trial use of the product using a pretest-posttest design is applied to the class VII-6 SMPN1 Wonopringgo. Samples were taken by a random sampling technique. The results obtained comics Environmental Pollution products that is developed and validated by an media and materials expert with very valid criteria (92.5% and 91.6%), validation of the product on the student as user comics obtain very valid criteria with the results a valid media (85.5%) and a very valid material (90%). Improved learning outcomes calculated using the N-Gain test with an average value of 0.62 gain in the category medium. Gain values ​​were showed no significant difference between the study results before and after learning activities. Increased environmental awareness is calculated using character N-Gain test average value gain of 0.41 in the category medium. Gain values ​​were showed no significant difference in the character of the neighborhood before the matter after learning activities. The results of the classical calculation of each indicator show the same criteria that is good, but there is an increase in the percentage of after use comics.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk komik yang valid digunakan sebagai sumber belajar materi pencemaran lingkungan, menguji efektivitas komik terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa, serta menganalisis efektifitas komik terhadap pengembangan karakter peduli lingkungan siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian Research and Development. Uji coba dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Wonopringgo pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Uji coba produk menggunakan 10 siswa kelas VIII-2 SMPN 1 Wonopringgo dengan teknik penyampelan purposive sampling. Uji coba pemakaian menggunakan siswa kelas VII-6 desain pretest-postest gorupmenggunakan teknik penyampelan random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan produk yang dikembangkan dari segi media dan segi materi mendapatkan penilaian sangat valid (92,5% dan 91,6%). Uji coba produk mendapatkan penilaian kelayakan media valid (85,5%) dan kelayakan materi sangat valid (90%). Peningkatan hasil belajar dihitung menggunakan uji N-Gain dengan nilai rata-rata gain 0,62 masuk kriteria sedang. Kriteria gain sedang menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa mengalami perubahan ke arah positif. Peningkatan karakter peduli lingkungan dihitung menggunakan uji N-Gain dengan nilai rata-rata gain 0,41 masuk kriteria sedang. Kriteria gain sedang menunjukkan bahwa karakter peduli lingkungan siswa mengalami perubahan ke arah positif. Penghitungan klasikal karakter peduli lingkungan tiap indikator sebelum dan setelah pembelajaran menunjukkan hasil yang sama yaitu kriteria baik, namun terdapat peningkatan persentase 2-8% setelah kegiatan pembelajaran dibandingkan sebelum pembelajaran menggunakan komik. Komik pencemaran lingkungan yang dikembangkan sudah mendapatkan penilaian sangat valid oleh ahli media dan materi namun nilai gain rata-rata yang masuk kriteria sedang menunjukkan komik belum cukup efektif memberikan perubahan hasil belajar dan karakter peduli lingkungan siswa kelas VII pada materi pencemaran lingkungan.
