Abstract

Abstract

Kedungmundu Health Center has ranked first in the number of pulmonary tuberculosis cases in Semarang City for three consecutive years, namely in 2020 there were 287 cases, in 2021 there were 162 cases, and in 2022 there were 304 cases. The purpose of this study was to determine the intrinsic factors as determinants of the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in children at Kedungmundu Health Center. This type of research is observational analytic with a case control study design. The sample determined was 36 cases and 36 controls using simple random sampling. The instrument used was an observation sheet. Data were analyzed using a data processing application with univariate analysis and bivariate analysis (chi-square test/fisher test). The results of the bivariate analysis showed that the variables associated with the incidence of childhood tuberculosis were nutritional status (OR=5.909) and family economic status (OR=3.640). The results of the multivariate analysis showed that nutritional status (OR=4.733) was the most dominant with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in children in the Kedungmundu Health Center work area. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between nutritional status and family economic status with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in children in the Kedungmundu Health Center work area.
