Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) is a self-harm behavior carried out by individuals without any intention of committing suicide. Previous studies have found that NSSI behavior can be triggered by exposure to adverse childhood experiences (ACE) or bad experiences in childhood, and one of the protective factors that can play a role is mindfulness. So this study aims to determine the role of mindfulness in moderating the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and nonsuicidal self-injury. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling. The research participants were generation Z aged 12-27 years in Java who had committed self-harm without any intention of committing suicide. Data collection used the DSHI scale to measure NSSI, the CTQ-SF scale to measure ACE, and the FFMQ-10 scale to measure mindfulness. Data were analyzed using the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) test and simple regression test. The results of the study showed that mindfulness significantly moderated the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and nonsuicidal self-injury, adverse childhood experiences significantly predicted NSSI, and mindfulness significantly predicted NSSI.
