Efektivitas Program Sekolah Siaga Bencana (SSB) dalam Meningkatkan Mitigasi Tanah Longsor di SMA Negeri 1 Samigaluh, Kabupaten Kulon Progo

Abstract

SMA Negeri 1 Samigaluh is a school located in a landslide-prone area and has implemented the Disaster-Prepared School

(SSB) Program to enhance students' understanding and preparedness in facing landslides. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a

study on the implementation of this program and its effectiveness in improving disaster mitigation for students. This research

employs a mixed-method approach with a descriptive type and a spatial approach. The sample consists of 71 students selected

using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and student comprehension tests, then

analyzed using percentage-based descriptive analysis. The results indicate that the implementation of the SSB program has been

effective, as evidenced by the routine execution of disaster evacuation and first aid simulations, the emergency response plan

that aligns with the procedures set by the Yogyakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and the provision of

adequate facilities. The effectiveness assessment shows that students' knowledge level reached 81.69, indicating that this

program is effective in enhancing preparedness for landslides. This article recommends more regular maintenance of facilities and

the implementation of more innovative and applicable learning methods to improve the understanding of fundamental landslide concepts.
