Abstract

The background of this research is that learning practices are still low in enthusiasm and seriousness among students, and students' interest of 20 fifth-grade students. The instrument used in this study was the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI). Data analysis was conducted using a t-test, which included a normality test, a homogeneity test, and a hypothesis test. After observation, an effect was identified between before and after the treatment. The pre-test mean was 13.83, and the post-test mean was 15.28, indicating a 10.48% increase in student fitness. The study demonstrated improvements in physical fitness among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Bandengan Kendal after the implementation of the game of gobak sodor. Gobak sodor has been shown to improve physical fitness in fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Bandengan Kendal. The play-based approach is an appropriate choice for improving student fitness. It is hoped that teachers will provide efficient and appropriate learning methods, so that students' physical fitness will continue to improve.
