The Effect of 17 KM Longmarch Training on Physical Fitness Learning Outcomes at SMK Negeri Jateng Semarang

Physical education plays an important role in developing students’ physical fitness and learning outcomes. However, physical fitness learning outcomes in vocational high schools are often not optimal, especially in endurance components, due to limited learning variations and low student engagement. Therefore, innovative and structured physical activity programs are needed to improve students’ fitness and learning achievement. This study aimed to examine the effect of a 17 km longmarch training program on students’ physical fitness learning outcomes at SMK Negeri Jateng Semarang. The study used a quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest model. The sample consisted of 25 tenth-grade students selected from a population of 125 students. Data were collected through pretest and posttest long-distance walking tests and analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-test, and normalized gain (N-Gain). The results showed a significant improvement, with mean scores increasing from 74.96 to 85.08 and an N-Gain value of 0.406 (moderate category).
