The improvement of human resource quality is a crucial factor in supporting the competitiveness of the workforce in the era of globalization. One of the government's efforts is through vocational training accompanied by competency certification. The Professional Certification Institute (LSP) plays an important role in ensuring the quality of certification in accordance with the standards set by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). This study aims to analyze the role of LSP in ensuring the quality of competency certification for training participants at the Center for Vocational Training and Productivity (BBPVP) Semarang. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through literature studies and interviews with the Director of LSP, assessors, and instructors. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, with data validity ensured through source triangulation. The results show that LSP at BBPVP Semarang is an LSP P2, which specifically certifies the outcomes of vocational training. The role of LSP in ensuring certification quality is reflected in the systematic development of the Competency Test Materials (MUK) through stages of verification, proposal, revision, and validation by assessors who act as collectors of competency evidence, as well as the implementation of structured certification schemes with a remedial system that distinguishes between minor and major errors. The role of instructors also serves as a supporting factor through technical training and the development of participants' mental attitudes, supported by a structured distribution of training hours. Competency certification provides added value for participants in increasing employment opportunities. However, challenges remain, such as limited facilities at the Competency Testing Site (TUK) and technical constraints. Therefore, it is necessary to improve infrastructure, optimize certification management, and strengthen synergy between LSP, instructors, and industry.
