Globalization has shifted how young generations perceive local culture, resulting in declining engagement with traditional practices such as batik-making, a cultural identity of Jarum Village. This community engagement program, conducted by UNNES GIAT 13, was designed to reintroduce batik culture while fostering creativity and basic scientific understanding through the use of natural dyes involving acid–base reactions. The program was held on October 26, 2025, at Joglo Mojoarum and consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and post-activity evaluation. The results showed that the activity, involving 80 children aged 7–12, successfully enhanced cultural understanding by introducing local batik motifs, improved visual creativity through drawing and coloring activities, and developed basic knowledge of color changes driven by acid–base reactions using turmeric, detergent, and vinegar. Participants demonstrated high enthusiasm, independent experimentation, and a clear understanding of natural dye processes. This program serves as an educational medium that combines art and science and is a strategic step toward supporting the regeneration of batik cultural preservers in Jarum Village.
