Abstract

This study examines the role of teachers as role models in shaping students’ honesty and discipline character at SDN Wonosari 01. This research uses a qualitative approach, relying on data from teacher interviews, classroom observations, and documentation. The results show that teacher exemplary, manifested through actions and words, has a significant influence on the internalization of honesty and discipline values in students. Teachers act as role models who consistently show positive behavior, provide direction, and create a classroom environment that supports character building. Teachers’ actions encourage students to be honest when they forget to bring homework rather than making excuses. Nonetheless, the study also identified challenges such as the lack of support from the family environment and the need for more systematic habituation strategies. The study concludes that teacher example is an important foundation in character education, which requires comprehensive support from various parties for optimal impact.
