This study examines the impact of limited family attention on the social behavior and learning motivation of elementary school students. Using a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews conducted with the principal of SD Negeri Mranggen 4, the research finds that parental attention is crucial for children's character development and academic achievement. Children who receive less attention tend to exhibit negative behaviors, low learning motivation, and social difficulties. Schools serve as compensatory spaces through character-building programs and psychosocial interventions; however, without active family involvement, these efforts are less effective. The findings emphasize the importance of synergy between family and school in supporting holistic character education to develop an ethically sound and competitive generation. Practical implications include the need for parental education and support, as well as educational policies encouraging more intensive family involvement.
