Abstract

Abstract

Human resources in the organization of amateur boxing in POPDA Central Java Province is a major factor in organizing the match.  This research aims to: (1) To analyze the resources of athletes in the organization of amateur boxing at POPDA Central Java; (2) To analyze the resources of trainers in the organization of amateur boxing at POPDA Central Java; (3) To analyze the resources of the board of judges, judges and referee judges in the organization of amateur boxing at POPDA Central Java.

This research is an analytical research using a qualitative descriptive approach. The data source of this research is human resources in the organization of amateur boxing in POPDA Central Java. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation.  Data validity techniques using source triangulation. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively with the following steps: (1) Data collection, (2) Data condensation, (3) Data display and (4) Conclusions drawing/ verifying.

The results of this study: 1) Shows that the majority of athletes have inadequate abilities, especially in mental aspects and competition strategies. The main contributing factors are limited training facilities, lack of sparring with more experienced opponents, and lack of mental training. 2) Most coaches have not been able to provide holistic and effective training. Limited time, facilities, and coaching methods are the main obstacles faced. In addition, the coach's ability to prepare athletes mentally also needs to be improved. 3) The Judges, Juries, and Referee Judges showed high professionalism with objective and transparent assessments. They are able to deal with conflicts and protests well and are supported by the use of modern technology.

Based on the results of the research, it was concluded that there are significant challenges in the development of athletes and coaches, especially related to mental readiness, competition strategies, and limited facilities and training methods. The majority of athletes still need to improve their mental and technical skills, while coaches need further training to provide more holistic and effective coaching. On the other hand, judges, juries, and referees have shown high professionalism in carrying out their duties with objectivity and transparency, supported by the utilization of modern technology.
