Risk Level Analysis of a Compressor Equipment at Repair Shop X using HAZOP Method

Abstract

A repair shop is a business entity operating in the field of automotive service, including vehicle repair and maintenance services, offering services ranging from routine inspections to complex damage repair. A repair shop employee is exposed to a variety of hazards, especially those related to compressor equipment, including explosion injuries, pneumatic equipment connected to a compressor, air spray, as well as respiratory illnesses. This study aims to identify and analyze the hazards that arises during works that uses a compressor at repair shop X. In this article, the researcher used a descriptive research design and the HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) approach. In the result, 4 hazards were identified in the high-risk category, 2 hazards in the medium-risk category, and 2 hazard risks in the low-risk category. In conclusion, each part of equipment or machine has different risks, but risks can be prevented through proper control.
