Factors Affecting the Level of Work Fatigue in Workers at PT X

Abstract

Work fatigue is a natural mechanism that prevents severe damage to workers but can also reduce their ability and efficiency at work. The issue of work fatigue has become an important matter that requires serious attention, as it can potentially diminish worker health, reduce productivity, and even increase the risk of workplace accidents. This study analyses the factors affecting work fatigue among workers at PT X, such as age, gender, length of service, and marital status. The research method used is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design to analyse risk factors associated with work fatigue. The population and sample consisted of 57 respondents selected using random sampling techniques. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires using the Work Fatigue Measurement Tool Questionnaire (KAUPK2) in digital form, conducted at PT X in April 2025. The analysis showed no significant relationship between gender and work fatigue (p=0.723>0.05). However, there was a significant relationship between age and work fatigue (p=0.043<0.05), marital status and work fatigue (p=0.008<0.05), as well as length of service and work fatigue (p=0.013<0.05). Workers aged 46-55 years had the highest level of severe fatigue, married workers showed a higher level of fatigue than unmarried workers, and workers with a longer duration of service (21-30 years) tended to experience severe fatigue. Age, marital status, and length of service influence work fatigue among workers at PT X, while gender did not show a relationship. The results of this work fatigue study can be used as a basis for developing interventions to cope with fatigue in the workplace.
