Upaya Merubah Perilaku Kesehatan Masyarakat Pinggiran Sungai dengan Pendidikan Kesehatan dan Uji Kadar Bakteri dalam Air

Abstract

Mekar Jati is one of the villages in Karawang Regency, West Java Province which is on the riverbank irrigation. It turned out that from 280 people there were 16% of the community did not use clean water, 18% of the people were not used to do hand washing, 30% of the people did not use healthy latrines. The community provides health education through discussion, questions and answers about clean and healthy lifestyle, sexually transmitted infections, how to wash hands, then drinking water tests on 5 pregnant women with test results 3 respondents with very good water condition, 1 respondents with good water conditions, and 1 respondent with water conditions that are not suitable for consumption. The results were informed to the respondents and carried out with personal health education. The community appreciated to the healthy life style that are needed, therefore continuous health supporting activities is needed to be able to change community behavior.

Mekar Jati merupakan salah satu desa di Kabupaten Karawang Provinsi Jawa Barat yang berada di pinggiran sungai irigasi. Terdapat 280 masyarakat dengan 16% masyarakat masih belum menggunakan sumber air bersih, 18% masyarakat belum terbiasa mencuci tangan, 30% masyarakat belum menggunakan jamban sehat. Masyarakat diberikan Pendidikan kesehatan melalui ceramah, tanya jawab dan demonstrasi tentang perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, infeksi menular seksual, cara mencuci tangan, kemudian dilakukan uji air konsumsi pada 5 ibu hamil yang ada di RW 02 dengan hasil uji air ditemukan 3 responden dengan kondisi air sangat baik, 1 responden dengan kondisi air baik, dan 1 responden dengan kondisi air yang tidak layak konsumsi. Hasil tersebut diinformasikan kepada responden serta dilanjutkan dengan pendidikan kesehatan secara personal. Masyarakat sudah menyadari perlunya menjaga kesehatan sehingga antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan penyuluhan, oleh karena itu perlunya kegiatan yang kontinyu agar tercapainya perubahan perilaku masyarakat.
