Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Krim Ekstrak Daun Babadotan (Ageratum conyzoides. L) dalam Pelarut Etanol

Abstract


Tanaman babadotan tergolong keluarga Asteraceae, merupakan salah satu bahan baku obat alami, baik dari daun maupun akar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun babadotan dengan VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) serta penerapannya pada krim penyembuh luka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode maserasi untuk mendapatkan ekstrak daun babadotan dengan cara perendaman tanaman dalam pelarut n-heksana dilanjutkan dengan pelarut etanol masing-masing selama 3 x 24 jam. Krim penyembuhan luka diformulasi menggunakan bahan utama ekstrak daun babadotan (dalam pelarut etanol) dengan variasi 2,5%, 5% dan 10% dan penambahan variasi VCO 5% dan 10%. Hasil identifikasi fitokimia ekstrak daun babadotandalam pelarut etanol positif menunjukkan adanya saponin, flavonoid, dan alkaloid. Ekstrak dalam pelarut etanol selanjutnya digunakan dalam formulasi krim penyembuh luka. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan krim ekstrak daun babadotan dalam pelarut etanol dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Bacillus subtilis dan Escherichia coli.

Babadotan plant included in the family Asteraceae family, is one of the raw materials of natural medicine, both from leaves and roots. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of babadotan leaf extract with VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) and its application to wound healing cream. This research used maceration method to get leaf extract of babadotan by plant immersion in n-hexane solvent followed by ethanol solvent each for 3 x 24 hours. Wound healing creams were formulated using the main ingredients of babadotan leaf extract (in ethanol solvent) with variations of 2.5%, 5% and 10% and the addition of 5% and 10% VCO variations. The results of phytochemical identification of babadot leaf extracts in a positive ethanol solvent showed the presence of saponins, flavonoids, and alkaloids. The extract in the ethanol solvent is then used in the formulation of wound healing cream. Examination of antibacterial activity showed cream of leaf extract of babadotan in ethanol solvent can inhibit the growth of bacterium Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli.
