Abstract

The problem of pollution is a problem that continues to develop among the people. Various types of pollutants, both in water, soil and air are very potential to damage the environment and harm human health. Cigarette smoke is one of the air pollutants that is very dangerous for both active smokers and passive smokers. A "T-FANTYQ 09" technology is designed as a technology to degrade CO pollutants produced by cigarette smoke. This technology is based on TiO2 photocatalyst mixed with SiO2 from lapindo mud which is sprayed on preparations. Preparations as catalysts and three UV lamps are arranged in a box shape measuring 16cm x 10cm x 20cm. The test is done by inserting cigarette smoke in a box and then illuminating the UV lamp. In testing tools using CO meters obtained results of a decrease in CO concentrations to 95% with a 60-minute irradiation time.
