The journal is published since 1984 by the ISSN 0852-0348 named Research Sheet. Later, this research sheet was changed to Educational Research Journal of Semarang State University at 2000. Starting from Volume 22, Number 1, 2006, this journal turned into Educational Research Journal (Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan, JPP).
