Upaya Meningkatkan Prestasi Belajar Matematika Peserta Didik Melalui Metode Discovery Learning berbantuan Blok Aljabar Materi Operasi Hitung Aljabar

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar melalui metode Discovery Learning dengan bantuan alat peraga blok aljabar pada peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 3 Kajen. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIIA  SMP Negeri 3 Kajen pada semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 dengan jumlah peserta didik 25 orang yang terdiri dari 13 orang laki-laki dan 12 orang perempuan. PTK ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus yang terdiri atas masing-masing 3 pertemuan. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes hasil belajar, observasi, serta tanggapan peserta didik. Kemudian dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Dari hasil analisis kedua siklus diperoleh ketuntasan belajar peserta didik pada pokok bahasan Operasi Hitung Bentuk Aljabar adalah meningkat. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari peningkatan ketuntasan belajar  peserta didik yaitu hasil nilai post test prasiklus yang mengalami ketuntasan sebanyak 52%, pada siklus 1 menjadi 63%, dan pada siklus 2 meningkat menjadi 80%. Dengan demikian dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa dari hasil tes ketiga yang tuntas belajar sebanyak 80% sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa ketuntasan belajar peserta didik dapat tercapai. Dari hasil pengamatan kedua siklus juga mengalami peningkatan aktifitas belajar peserta didik, peserta didik semakin lebih antusias untuk mengikuti pembelajaran, aktif bekerja sama, berani bertanya, dan kompetitif dalam penyelesaian masalah. Oleh karena itu hasil  penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (a) hasil belajar peserta didik mengalami peningkatan, (b) terjadi peningkatan keaktifan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran ,(c) respon terhadap  pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan positif.

This study was a classroom action research that aims to improve learning outcomes through the method of Discovery Learning with the help of algebra block props in class VII students SMPN 3 Kajen. The subject of this research is the students of class VIIA SMP Negeri 3 Kajen in odd semester of academic year 2017/2018 with the number of students 25 students consisting of 13 men and 12 women. This TOD is implemented in 2 cycles consisting of 3 meetings each. Data collection is done by using learning result test, observation, and student's response. Then the research analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. From the analysis results of both cycles obtained learners' learning completeness on the subject of Operation Calculate Algebraic Form is increased. This can be seen from the improvement of students' learning mastery that is the result of post test prasiklus value that experienced 52% completeness, in cycle 1 to 63%, and in cycle 2 increased to 80%. Thus it can be concluded that from the third complete test result of learning as much as 80% so it can be said that learners learn mastery can be achieved. From the observation of the two cycles also experienced increased learning activities of learners, learners are increasingly more enthusiastic to follow the learning, active cooperative, daring to ask, and competitive in solving the problem. Therefore, the results of this study indicate that (a) the learning outcomes of learners have increased, (b) there is increased learner activity in learning, (c) the response to learning carried out positively
