This research was conducted at Puma Volleyball Club Serdang Bedagai Volleyball. The population of this study was 8 people and the sample used in this study were male athletes, totaling 8 people who were taken by simple random. This research method is an experimental method with the research design Pretest – Posttest One Group with decline push up and bench dip exercises carried out for 6 weeks. The test instrument used is a test of the results of the arm muscle strength. The data analysis technique used was the Lilifors normality test and the hypothesis test, namely the t-test with a significant level of 0.05. The results obtained from the hypothesis test, namely the strength of the arm muscles, obtained tcount (5.63) > ttable (1.90). Based on the criteria for testing the hypothesis, then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected so that it can be concluded that there is an effect of decline push up and bench dip exercises on the arm muscle strength of Puma Volley Club Volleyball Serdang Bedagai athletes.
2023-12-31T00:00:00+07:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unnes.ac.id/sju/ajpesh/article/view/73112Senior High School Students: Their Fitness Level and Their Academic Performance2024-01-08T16:38:26+07:00Joemar Lacasan[email protected]Junah Lacasan-Nagba[email protected]
Adolescence is a common experience for adolescents worldwide, preparing them for the future and developing academic performance. In the Philippines, increasing educational accountability and the No Child Left Behind Act have reduced physical education classes, affecting students' fitness and cognitive development. Physical fitness plays a crucial role in academic performance, as it increases blood flow, oxygen extraction, and pulmonary ventilation. Improved cardiorespiratory fitness reduces depression, anxiety, and self-esteem, leading to better academic performance. Play is essential for learning, and physical activity improves the cardiovascular, vascular, metabolic, endocrine, and immune systems. Adolescent sedentary lifestyles, caused by gadgets, can lead to poor academic performance. Hence, the purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between students' physical fitness levels and academic performance in Senior High School students officially enrolled in S.Y 2022-2023.
2023-12-31T00:00:00+07:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unnes.ac.id/sju/ajpesh/article/view/73655Eating Habits Among School Students2024-01-09T11:40:15+07:00Muhammad Syazwan Syakir[email protected]Azlan Ahmad Kamal[email protected]Zarizi Ab Rahman[email protected]
In this study, schoolchildren's eating behaviors are examined. The pandemic restrictions on outdoor activities have caused physical activity levels to decrease by 6.3% globally. After vaccination is introduced, many individuals may feel more confident and safer to engage in physical activities but no fixed percentage of increased physical activity participation. This study aims to measure the social cognitive determinants of physical activity participation among vaccinated Malaysians. A total of 372 respondents, who had received vaccinations, were recruited for this study. The participants were selected from different age groups and genders in Malaysia. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to measure the relationship between the social cognitive determinants and physical activity participation among vaccinated Malaysians. The results revealed a significant relationship between the social cognitive determinants and physical activity participation (β = 0.44, p < 0.001). Self-efficacy (β = 0.44, p = 0.001) was found to be a significant predictor of physical activity participation. Participants with higher levels of self-efficacy were more likely to engage in regular physical activity. Similarly, outcome expectations (β = 0.25, p = 0.039), and goals (β = 0.64, p = 0.001) were positively associated with physical activity participation. In contrast, sociostructural factors demonstrated a negative association with physical activity participation (β = -0.49, p = 0.001). In conclusion, this study provides valuable insight into the social cognitive determinants of physical activity participation among vaccinated Malaysians. Understanding the role of social cognitive determinants may provide insights into strategies to promote physical activity among this population.
2024-01-09T15:32:32+07:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unnes.ac.id/sju/ajpesh/article/view/75857Blended Learning with the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility Approach in Learning Physical Education Sports and Health and Character in the New Normal Era2024-01-09T16:22:47+07:00Hermawan Pamot Raharjo[email protected]Heny Setyawati[email protected]
This study aims to develop a learning model with the TPSR approach. The subjects of this study were all elementary school students in Gunungpati, Semarang. Data analysis using the analytical description. Research results: 1. Need to improvise the learning process of locomotor basic motion material. 2. There are problems in implementation in the field. 3. Teachers teach only based on their experience. The results of the Small andLarge Scale Trials showed an increase in students' attitudes, knowledge values, and locomotor movement abilities. The results of the Feasibility Test also showed an increase in the attitude value, knowledge value, and locomotor movement ability of students.
2023-12-31T00:00:00+07:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unnes.ac.id/sju/ajpesh/article/view/76114Remote Teaching Instruction Through The Lens of Physical Education Teachers: Challenges During The Covid-19 Pandemic2024-01-11T13:45:31+07:00Harlyn Mae S. Ompoc[email protected]
The COVID-19 pandemic, with its widespread transmission, has profoundly impacted the world. It led to millions falling ill, and a significant loss of lives. This unprecedented crisis resulted in global measures like school closures, home quarantine, and social distancing, compelling educators and employees to embrace remote work and technology. In Physical Education (PE), characterized by its hands-on approach, teachers faced the challenge of adapting to remote instruction without adequate training. While research on quality in-person PE instruction is well-established, there is still much to uncover about remote PE instruction. This study delves into teachers' experiences during remote learning amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Adopting a qualitative methodology, the study utilized an interview guide as the primary tool and applied a constant comparative approach for data analysis. Ten participants specializing in Physical Education, drawn from various colleges and universities in the southern Philippines, were purposefully selected for the study. Despite some having prior blended learning training, they faced challenges, including concerns about the authenticity of students’ work, connectivity issues, assessing output, quality challenges, feedback delays, and difficulties in motor skill acquisition. The findings underscore the need for targeted training programs addressing these challenges, emphasizing the importance of ongoing support and professional development for PE educators navigating remote learning environments.
2024-01-11T13:45:28+07:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unnes.ac.id/sju/ajpesh/article/view/76861The School Health Service Program Evaluation using CIPP Model2024-01-22T20:53:56+07:00Sununta Srisiri[email protected]Suthira Muangnapoe[email protected]Thanma Laipat[email protected]Rapeepat Srimala[email protected]Pongsatorn Sukityarn[email protected]
Objective: To make an evaluation on the program conducted by the School Health Service Program in health screening and life safety using the CIPP Model developed by Stufflebeam. Involving 194 students selected via simple random sampling from Burapha University, the study utilised a comprehensive questionnaire A pivotal instrument in this methodology was the "Health Literacy in Physical Activities for Adolescents" questionnaire, adapted from Khunkitti's 2020 work and conceptually based on Pander, Murdaugh, and Parsons (2011) work to evaluate various aspects of physical activity literacy, including knowledge, access, opinions, and engagement. The questionnaire demonstrated a reliability score of .85. Statistical methods such as ANOVA were employed for analysis. The findings indicated uniformly high levels of health literacy across all academic years in areas like knowledge and perception of physical activities, with moderate engagement in actual physical activities. No significant variances were observed between different academic years regarding understanding, accessibility, opinions, family and community involvement, and physical activity practices among students.
2024-01-22T21:32:20+07:00##submission.copyrightStatement##
