Pengaruh Permainan Congklak Berkartu Bilangan terhadap Kemampuan Mengenal Konsep Bilangan dan Konsep Banyak dan Sedikit pada Anak Usia Taman Kanak-Kanak

Abstract

Cognitive learning in the kindergarten can be done by fun games. One of the game which is believed to be able to stimulate the development of childern’s thinking process is congklak with numbered cards. The problem in this research is: (1) Does the congklak game with numbered cards is able to influence the kindergarten students’ ability in recognizing the concept of number?, (2) Does the congklak game with numbered cards is able to influence the kindergarten students’ ability in recognizing the concept of quantity ? (3) Does the congklak game with numbered cards is able to influence the kindergarten students’ ability in recognizing the concept of number and the concept of quantity ? The aim of this research is to describe whether or not the congklak game with numbered cards is able to influence the kindergarten students ability in recognizing the concept of number and the concept of quantity. This research is experimental type for testing the hypothesis. The experimental group was treated by employing congklak game with numbered cards. There are three variables, namely: a manipulation variable (congklak game with numbered cards) and two response variables (concept of number and concept of quantity). This research was done in four kindergartens: two kindergarten for experimental groups and the other two for control groups. Before the research was conducted, the research instruments were developed and were tried out in the two groups for testing validity and reliability level. The data were collected by conducting observation.

Anova test analysis shows that significant result is 0,020 and 0,000, and thus <0,05, This means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. On the other hand, Manova analysis shows  that Box’s  test  significant result  is  0,000 < 0,05; significant  result  of  Multivariate  test  is  0,000 <

0,05; and significant result of Between test for Y1 is 0,020 and Y2 is 0,000 so < 0,050. This indicates that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the congklak game with numbered  cards has positive impact towards  the kindergarten students’ ability in recognizing the concept of number and the concept of quantity. Thus, it is expected that this game can be practiced in other kindergartens.
