Pentingnya Pendidikan Karakter Melalui Keteladanan Guru

Abstract

Character education for students is considered very important to be implemented immediately in the education unit. The implementation will be more effective if the teacher is able to place himself as an example for his students. Before character building for students, the teacher is emphasized to first have character. The character of the teacher who has character will have a positive effect on the development of the character of students both from speech, attitude, behavior, appearance, and habits in school and in the community.

Pendidikan karakter bagi peserta didik dirasa sangat penting untuk segera dilaksanakan di satuan pendidikan. Pelaksanaanya akan lebih efektif apabila guru mampu menempatkan diri sebagai teladan bagi peserta didiknya. Sebelum melakukan pembinaan karakter kepada peserta didik maka guru ditekankan untuk terlebih dahulu berkarakter. Sosok guru yang berkarakter akan memberi efek positif bagi perkembangan karakter peserta didik baik dari tutur kata, sikap, perilaku, penampilan, dan kebiasaan di sekolah maupun di lingkungan masyarakat.
