The effect of media augmented reality on learning result of student in the geometrical optics concept

Abstract

This research aim to prove the effect of augmented reality media on learning result of students in the geometrical optics concept. The study was conducted in May 2016 at Senior High School 3 of South Tangerang. There were two samples, the class X Science 5 as the control class and class X Science 4 as the experimental class. The method was quasi experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. There were two instruments, test instrument with multiple choice objective questions and non-test instruments with questionnaires. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using non-parametric statistical tests of Mann Whitney that were conducted on the post-test was obtained sig. (2-tailed) of 0.047and a significance level of 0,05, it was seen that the value sig (2-tailed) < 0.05 significance level, so Ho rejected. It means augmented reality media was proved influence on learning result of students. The average result of students who used augmented reality media in the experiment class was higher than the control class for all cognitive abilities. Responses of students to the augmented reality media in physics learning process were in good category with a percentage of 78,75.
