Analysis of junior high school student' answer mistake of the problem-solving question by realistic mathematics educations approach

Mathematics learning at school is not only addressed for the improvement of students' calculating skill, but also for the improvement of students' mathematics skill. So that young generations are necessary to be prepared so that they can solve any increasingly complex daily life problems. Lack of teachers' attention on the development of problem-solving skill in the learning process, abstract mathematic characteristics create less ability for students in solving mathematics problems. This research aims to analyze students' answer mistakes in answering mathematics problem-solving skill questions after joiningRealistic Mathematics Education learning. Type of this research is qualitative research with Grounded Theory method. This research used one class as the sample to obtain the Realistic Mathematics Education learning. Population in this research is junior high school students in VII class in Cianjur regency, while there are samples namely Junior High school Islam Al-Azhar 20 Cianjur students. Instruments used in this research include the test on mathematics problem-solving skill and observation sheets. The conclusion obtained in this research is: (1) students' mistakes in answering mathematics problem solving skill questions by students joining the Realistic Mathematics Education most of which are in indicators of problem understanding and problem-solving based on the plan, this is caused by lack students' basic ability in relating materials to be used in problem-solving. Then, there is also another cause namely that students are not used to learning using learning by re-finding out concepts in the learning process. So that, the implementation of RME learning is not applied smoot only. Students are used to learning by presenting problems in contextual forms.
