The profile of science literacy attitudes of junior high school students in Purbalingga

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the profile of science literacy attitude of junior high school students in Purbalingga and factors that affect the science literacy attitude. This study uses mixed methods sequential explanatory as the research method. The quantitative data were analyzed by parametric statistics, and qualitative data was analyzed by using the interview. The study was conducted on three junior high schools in Purbalingga which represents high, medium, low grade. The profile of science literacy attitude is measured by using questionnaire of science attitude with like rt scale. The result of the study shows that profile science literacy attitude is categorized as "enough" with score percentage 74,96%. Factors affecting the profile of science literacy attitude are summarized into four points as follows: (1) the concerns of school residents, (2) the implementation of science chase in schools, and (3) students' interest in science.
