Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil belajar IPS pada beberapa siswa yang belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Terbatasnya bahan ajar serta media pembelajaran menjadi faktor utama. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media puzzle berbasis index card match, menguji kelayakan media puzzle berbasis index card match, dan menguji keefektifan puzzle berbasis index card match materi peristiwa lahirnya Pancasila pada muatan IPS. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDN Patemon 01 Kota Semarang. Peneliti menggunakan teknik sampel dengan jumlah 30 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, angket, tes, dan dokumentasi. Peneliti mengolah data menggunakan analisis data produk, analisis data awal, uji t, dan uji gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan media puzzle berbasis index card match sangat layak digunakan dengan persentase ahli materi dan media berturut-turut sebesar 92,85% dan 95,45%. Berdasarkan hasil belajar terdapat perbedaan rata-rata melalui uji t sebesar 19,046 dan peningkatan rata-rata (gain) sebesar 0,587 dengan kriteria sedang. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah media puzzle berbasis index card match sangat layak dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPS.


 


This study was motivated by the results of social studies (IPS) lesson in some students who did not reached the Minimum Score Criteria (KKM) because of limited teaching materials and learning media. This study was research and development (R&D). This study aimed to develop puzzle media based on index card match, to assess the feasibility, and the effectiveness of the media on the birth of the Pancasila material in social studies. The subject of this research was the five grade students of Patemon 01 elementary school, Semarang city, Central Java. In this study, researchers used saturated sample technique with total of 30 students. The data was collected by observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Researchers processed data using product data analysis, early data analysis, t test, and gain test. The results showed that the puzzle media based on index card match material was very feasible to be used with the percentage of expert material assessment of 95.45%, media experts of 92.85%. Based on learning outcomes there was an average difference through the t test of 19.046 and the average increase of 0.587 with medium criteria. As conclusion, the puzzle media based on index card match was very feasible and effective for helping the students to learn about social studies subject in Patemon 01 elementary school.
