Upaya Mengembangkan Keterampilan 4C melalui Challenge Based Learning

Abstract

Mempersiapkan lulusan yang adaptif terhadap perkembangan jaman merupakan salah satu hal yang perlu disiapkan dalam pendidikan. Masih kurang maksimalnya sistem pendidikan di Indonesia dilatarbelakangi oleh kurang optimalnya proses pembelajaran di kelas. Permasalahan ini mengakibatkan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreativitas, komunikatif, dan kolaboratif yang mana lebih dikenal sebagai keterampilan 4C. Challenge Based Learning sebagai salah satu alternatif model pembelajaran yang dapat diimplementasikan di kelas, khususnya untuk pembelajaran matematika dianggap mampu mengembangkan keterampilan 4C. Studi literatur dilaksanakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menunjukkan bagaimana pengaruh Challenge Based Learning terhadap keterampilan 4C siswa. Beberapa artikel nasional dan internasional dikaji melalui proses reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian tersebut. Sebagai salah satu inovasi model pembelajaran yang diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika, Challenge Based Learning memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap efektifitas maupun peningkatan keterampilan 4C siswa. Kerangka pembelajaran kolaboratif memberikan kesempatan siswa untuk dapat mengembangkan keterampilan kolaboratif mereka. Siswa dituntut untuk dapat menyelesaikan masalah yang mendesak, mengajukan solusi terkait masalah nyata dan mengambil tindakan yang tepat sehingga memberikan kesempatan siswa untuk dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreativitas mereka. Setelah siswa menyelesaikan masalah tersebut, siswa diminta untuk dapat mempublikasikan solusi mereka kepada khalayak sehingga memberikan pengaruh tehadap keterampilan komunikasi mereka. Temuan lain menunjukkan pengaruh model ini terhadap beberapa keterampilan siswa lain seperti belief in math, self-confidence, dan beberapa keterampilan lain khususnya di bidang teknologi. Model ini adalah model paket komplit yang dapat diimplementasikan di kelas sehingga keterampilan 4C siswa dapat berkembang dan memberikan pengaruh terhadap perbaikan sistem pendidikan Indonesia.
