SUBJECT WEEK PROGRAM ANTARA REALITAS DAN HARAPAN (Pengembangan Soft Skills dan Etos Berprestasi Siswa di Semesta Bilingual Boarding School Semarang)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengembangan soft skills dan etos berprestasi siswa melalui program subject week dalam mendukung budaya sekolah di Semesta Blingual Boarding School Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pelaksanaan program subject week terdiri dari tahap perencanaan dan tahap pelaksanaan. Soft skills siswa yang dikembangkan melalui pelaksanaan program subject week ada tiga aspek yaitu: kecakapan mengenal diri, kecakapan berfikir rasional, dan kecakapan sosial. Habitus etos berprestasi telah tertanam baik dalam diri para siswa dan sebagian guru. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan program subject week   antara lain waktu pelaksanaan yang kurang, beban kerja guru dan minimnya personil pelaksanaan kegiatan, anggaran dana, perubahan orientasi pendidikan dan iklim sekolah yang cenderung science sentris, serta beban tugas siswa. Upaya yang dilakukan guna mengatasi kendala yang ada yakni: mengadakan seremonial penutupan acara, pembentukan tim pelaksana, membuat rancangan anggaran rendah.

 

This research aims to analyze the development of soft skills and student achievement ethos through the subject week program in support of school culture in Semesta Bilingual Boarding School Semarang. This research uses Qualitative Research Method. Data collection using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of subject week program consists of the planning stage and implementation phase. Soft skills of students who developed through the implementation of subject week program there are three aspects, namely: self-knowing skills, rational thinking skills, and social skills. Habitus achievement ethos has been embedded in both every students and some teachers. Obstacles encountered in the implementation of the program subject time, among others, less time of execution, teacher workload and lack of personnel implementation activities, budget funds, education orientation and climate changes that tend to science centric, as well as student task load. Efforts are made to overcome the existing obstacles: held ceremonial closing events, the formation of the executive team, making the low budget plan.
