Penelitian yang dilaksanakan ini menggunakan model pembelajaran guided inquiry berbasis think pair share bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Grabag menggunakan metode true experiment dengan pretest and posttest control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen dengan model pembelajaran guided inquiry berbasis think pair share telah mencapai ketuntasan belajar individu dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal. Hal tersebut diperkuat dengan hasil uji perbedaan dua rata-rata dimana diperoleh t_hitung>t_tabel (1,71>1,67) yang menunjukkan rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Uji gain kelas eksperimen diperoleh <g>=0,70 (tinggi) dan kelas kontrol diperoleh <g>=0,66 (sedang). Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran guided inquiry berbasis think pair share efektif dalam meningkatkan  pemahaman konsep.

The using of learning model guided inquiry think pair share-based to determine the effectiveness of the model in improving the understanding of the concept study. The study was held at SMA Negeri 1 Grabag using true experiment with pretest and posttest control group design. The study result showed the student learning outcomes average of experimental class by learning model guided inquiry think pair share-based students has reached individual minimum completeness criteria and classical minimum completeness criteria. It is strengthened by the results of the t-test which gained t_hitung>t_tabel (1,71>1,67) that shows the average results of studying experimental class higher than the control class. The gain of experimental class was obtained <g>=0,70 (high) and control class was obtained <g>=0,66 (medium). The result of the study showed that the learning model guided inquiry think pair share-based effective in improving the understanding of the concept.
