The instrument used in the assessment consisted of 22 items that referred to the acceptance of the guidebook. Analysis of the assessment results using the formulation calculation of the content validity ratio from Lawshe. The results of the analysis showed the cognitive behavior counseling guidebook has a content validity index (CVI) of 0.94, which means very good or special. Based on these results the cognitive behavior counseling guidebook to improve self-esteem this study has fulfilled the eligibility criteria to be used as an instrument in implementing counseling guidance services, especially in the use of cognitive behavior counseling in improving the self-esteem of high-school students
