Abstrak


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan model cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) berbantuan media papan selip terhadap penguasaan kosakata siswa.Penelitian ini mengguna-kan metode kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan desain pene-litian quasi experimental. Prosedur penelitian menggunakan non equivalent control group de-sign. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III SD di Gugus Wolter Monginsidi. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah cluster random sampling dengan SDN 02 Mororejo sebagai kelas eksperimen dan SDN 03 Sarirejo sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tek-nik tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan Indepen-dent Sample T-Test menunjukan bahwa nilai ð‘¡â„Žð‘–ð‘¡ð‘¢ð‘›ð‘” (4,569) > ð‘¡ð‘¡ð‘Žð‘ð‘’ð‘™ (1,9967), artinya hasil tes yang di-peroleh kelas eksperimen lebih besar dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Hail ini di-dukung dengan hasil uji N-gain, yaitu kelas eksperimen berada pada kriteria sedang (0,39) dan kelas kontrol berada pada kriteria rendah (0,25). Observasi aktifitas siswa menunjukan rata-rata kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi yaitu 82,50% dibandingkan kelas kontrol yaitu 76,56%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran CIRC berbantuan media papan selip efektif terhadap peningkatan penguasaan kosakata dan aktivitas siswa kelas III SD di Gugus Wolter Monginsidi.


This study aims to test the effectiveness of cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) models assisted by slot board media on the student’s vocabulary mastery. This experiment used quantitative method. The kind of this experimen is quasi experimental desaign. The prosedure of the experiment used non-equivalent control group design. The population of this experiment is the third grade of elementary school in Gugus Wolter Monginsidi. The technique of taking sample is cluster random sampling with SDN 02 Mororejo as experimental class and SDN 03 Sarirejo as control class. Data collection used test technique, observation, interview and documentation techniques. The result of hypothesis used independent sample T-test offers that the score of ð‘¡count (4,569) >ð‘¡ð‘¡ð‘Žð‘ð‘’ð‘™ (1,9967), it means the test results of the experimental class bigger than the control class. This was supported with the result of the N-Gain test, that is the experimental class was in medium criteria (0,424) and the control class was in low criteria (0,233). Observation of student’s activity refers to average of experiment class is higher that is 82,50% if compared with control class that is 76,56%. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that CIRC learning model assisted by slot board media is effective in improving vocabulary mastery and students activities at the third grade of elementary schools in Gugus Wolter Monginsidi.
