The purpose of this study is to determine the form of ethnomathematics in determining good days in the tradition of building a Javanese house and to find out the process of implementing the construction of a Javanese house. This research is an effort to present one form of local wisdom of the Javanese community which has a philosophical meaning behind Javanese ethnomathematics (petungan) carried out in the tradition of building a house. The form of this research is descriptive qualitative using an ethnographic approach. The research location is in Purworejo Regency, Central Java province. Data collection using direct observation techniques and direct interviews with research sources who know and understand more deeply about the tradition of building a Javanese house. The results showed that the form of ethnomathematics in the tradition of building Javanese houses is in the form of counting, measuring, and predicting activities. Then philosophically, the cultural value that emerges is that the tradition of building a house is an attempt to unite (Jw: nyawijikake) between the house and the person who built the house. The discussion on the figure of Amangkurat I, specifically in recent studies, has not been widely discussed. The purpose of this study is to determine the representation of the figure of Amangkurat I in both works. This research includes a qualitative-descriptive study. The data used are in the form of text content in both literary works, the author's background, discourse on character representation, and sociology of literature. Interpretation of data is carried out in accordance with the workings of the theory of sociology of literature. The results of the research show that there is a more positive impression of the image of Amangkurat I, when compared to the novel, which appears in the babad story. This impression appeared in several events, namely the early period after the coronation, the construction of the Plered palace, the death of the Mataram tumenggung, the death of the Queen of Malang, the gift of bekisar by Prince Pekik, and the escape to Betawi. Such a narrative in the Babad Tanah Jawi can be assumed as an effort to legitimize the authorities. Then, the different depictions that appear in Amangkurat's novel show the author's partiality towards Dutch records against the story in Babad Tanah Jawi. Thus, the presence of the novel Amangkurat can be interpreted as a reaction or response by Ardian Kresna to the story in the Babad Tanah Jawi.

Keywords: Representation, Amangkurat I, Babad Tanah Jawi, Amangkurat’s novel
2023-11-27T00:00:00+07:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unnes.ac.id/sju/sutasoma/article/view/72508Relevansi Cerita Lisan Dumadine Gunung Kelud pada Tradisi Larung Sesaji di Kabupaten Kediri2023-11-27T21:05:45+07:00Ferdian Permana[email protected]Rahma Ari Widihastuti[email protected]

The oral story of the Legend of Mount Kelud in Kediri Regency has several variations from each speaker with various backgrounds. The research method used is qualitative with descriptive analysis techniques. The data collection method is in the form of tapping using a free and skilled listening technique. The data source for this research is TikTok video content which contains the term "mas-mas Jawa." The research results show that a language can show the culture that develops in certain groups of society. Through the term "mas-mas Jawa" which is currently being used virally by Tiktok users, there is a community representation of Javanese culture in an abstract form in the form of life values, a social form in the form of people's personalities, and a physical form in the form of batik as typical clothing. The personality of Javanese men can reflect Javanese culture because in its formation it cannot be separated from cultural influences. From the research conducted, it can be concluded that the representation of TikTok users regarding the term “mas-mas Jawa” is a reflection of the principles of Javanese life, namely sepi ing pamrih, rame ing gawe, memayu hayuning Bawana.

Keywords: representation; term; Javanese men; Javanese cultur; tiktok
2023-11-27T00:00:00+07:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unnes.ac.id/sju/sutasoma/article/view/75771Syair Hamzah Fansuri sebagai Negasi Tuduhan Wahdatul Wujud2023-11-27T21:08:12+07:00Widodo W[email protected]Muhamad Burhanudin[email protected]Siti Rohmah Soekarba[email protected]Yusro Edy Nugroho[email protected]Widodo W[email protected]
This study explores the work of Hamzah Fansuri (HF) in the early vortex of the entry of Islam into the archipelago. This can be seen from the contents of the prayer text by the Javanese king for the prosperity of the people and protection for himself.
