Abstract

X-ray including ionizing radiation types and widely used in the field of medicine as a means radiodiagnostic, X-ray radiation can cause infertility. This study aims to determine whether or not the effect of X-ray radiation on sperm motility. As an object of research used mice that were divided into 6 groups, K (control), A, B, C, D and E. X-ray radiation of by using X-rays machines type SF100BY. After ± 30 days, sperm retrieval performed in mice and then performed the observations include the amount of sperm concentration and sperm motility (the mobility) using a light microscope. From the observation, it is known that X-ray radiation dose influence on the amount of sperm concentration and motility. The larger the dose of radiation given the concentration of motile sperm motility and decreased motility and immotile increasing motility. Thus obtained the X-ray radiation of the mice can cause infertile.
