Peran Mediasi Career Engagement dalam Career Adaptability terhadap Prestasi Akademik Mahasiswa

Abstract

Kemampuan adaptabilitas karier (career adaptability) dan keterlibatan karier (career engagement) mahasiswa selama menempuh pendidikan perlu dipersiapkan agar dapat menghadapi bergai tantangan yang ada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran mediasi career engagement terhadap career adaptability pada prestasi akademik mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian ini kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang, yang dipilih secara acak (n=286). Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan Career Adapt-Ability Scale (CAAS), Career Engagement Scale (CES) dan indeks prestasi kumulatif. Hasil reliabilitas instrumen yaitu CAAS 0,925 dan CES 0,910. Analisis mediasi menggunakan teknik bias corrected dengan N= 2000 dan confident interval 95%, dengan software SPSS sintaks PROCESS Hayes. Hasil riset menunjukkan bahwa career adaptability mempengaruhi prestasi akademik yang dimediasi career engagement terbukti signifikan (LLCI= 0.02, ULCI= 0.07). Implikasi penelitian ini bagi dosen maupun konselor perguruan tinggi yaitu perlu membimbing dan memfasilitasi mahasiswa untuk mengikuti berbagai kegiatan akademik maupun penunjang akademik sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan adaptabilitas karier, keterlibatan karier dan prestasi akademik.
