ANALISIS SIFAT MEKANIK GENTENG KERAMIK HASIL CAMPURAN LUMPUR LAPINDO
Abstract
Manufacture of ceramic genteng using Lapindo mud had been done successfully, was made using additive materials of dolomite and phosphate. The mixed material was sintered at 800oC in 2 hours. Compotition variation with additive material mix (clay+dolomite) and (clay+ phosphate) with a ratio of 5% s/d 50%. Test parameter and sample characterization such as density, porosity, strength, and micrography observation with MS-804 microscope. The results of characterization dolomite down hardness values, and the rising value of their porosity, while the addition of phosphate additives had been test better results than using dolomite, due to the smaller density of phosphate could fill the pores of larger Lapindo mud, while the lower-density dolomite mud can could not fill the pores completely Lapindo mud that mades high porosity values. Optimum composition genteng keramik on composition75% clay, 15% dolomite, and 10% phosphate. The characteristics of genteng keramik in composition is as follows : density = 1,51% g cm-3, porosity= 7,9% and hardness= 2688,37 kg cm-2 or 234 kgf mm-2, and produced roofpress with a low density and lower porosity than roof of commonly, and more high than genteng keramik marketReferences
