Focus and Scope

The Annual Review of Legal Studies aims to provide an in-depth, multidisciplinary annual review in the field of legal studies. The journal's scope encompasses a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments in legal theory, legal practice, legal policy, and relevant legal issues globally. The primary focus of ARLS is to present critical and evaluative analyses of key topics in legal studies, including but not limited to Legal Theory, Legal Practice, Legal Policy, and Contemporary Legal Issues. 

  1. Legal Theory: Research on theoretical aspects of law, including legal epistemology, legal philosophy, and critical thinking on legal structures.

  2. Legal Practice: Analyses of legal practices, court procedures, the role of legal practitioners, and challenges faced in the implementation of law.

  3. Legal Policy: Studies on legal policy-making, law implementation, and the social, economic, and politcal impacts of legal policies.

  4. Contemporary Legal Issues: In-depth research on ongoing legal issues globally including human rights, international law, technology and law, environmental law, and social and cultural sues related to the law.
