About the Journal

The Journal of Skills and Workforce Development (JSWD) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing research and best practices in skills development and workforce education. Focusing on the intersection of education, industry, and sustainable development, JSWD publishes scholarly articles, case studies, and innovative practices. Aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4, 8, and 9), JSWD fosters collaboration among academics, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to enhance the quality and relevance of skills development and workforce education. By promoting evidence-based solutions, JSWD supports the development of a skilled, adaptable, and innovative workforce, driving economic growth, social prosperity, and environmental sustainability.

The Journal of Skills and Workforce Development focuses on research and practices related to skills development and workforce education, with an emphasis on contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The journal accepts articles covering, but not limited to, the following topics:

  1. Curriculum Development and Evaluation: Design, development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula in the context of skills development and workforce education, aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education).
  2. Professional Training and Development: Programs for training and developing the competencies of the workforce across various industry sectors, supporting SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
  3. Innovations in Education and Training: New and innovative approaches in teaching and training that enhance practical and theoretical skills, contributing to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).

  5. Workforce Education Policy and Management: Analysis of educational policies and management practices focused on skills development and workforce education, supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
  6. Industry-Education Partnerships: Case studies and models of collaboration between educational institutions and industries to enhance the relevance of education and training, aligning with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
  7. Skills Assessment and Evaluation: Methods and tools for assessing and evaluating learning outcomes and workforce skills, contributing to SDG 4 (Quality Education).
  8. Entrepreneurship and Skills Development: Integration of entrepreneurship education into curricula to prepare the workforce to become entrepreneurs, supporting SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
