Komunitas {p-ISSN 2460-7312, e-ISSN 2460-7320} focuses on advanced empirical and theoretical research in Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Development Studies, specifically addressing the dynamics of communities in transition, with a primary regional emphasis on Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

The journal accepts original research articles that explore:

  • Social Change, Livelihoods, and Adaptation: Studies on community resilience, adaptive strategies to environmental and economic challenges, land use, resource conflict, and the socio-ecological relationships within specific locales.
  • Identity, Ethnicity, and Cultural Dynamics: Research on the construction and negotiation of ethnic and cultural identities, inter-ethnic relations, local wisdom (indigenous knowledge systems), and the social role of cultural practices and heritage.
  • Sociology and Anthropology Education: Strong links between sociological, anthropological, and educational approaches that can be presented at various levels of education and the dynamics within them.
  • Gender, Family, and Social Inclusion: Examination of gender dynamics, power relations within families (including interfaith contexts), women’s empowerment, access to education, and political education aimed at social equity (GEDSI).
  • Governance and Public Issues: Sociological analysis of public policy, social capital, tourism development impacts, and community responses to contemporary challenges (political, religious, or technological).
