SELF DISCLOSURE: DEFINISI, OPERASIONALISASI, DAN SKEMA PROSES

Abstract

Abstrak. Self Disclosure merupakan salah satu tekhnik atau keterampilan yang lazim dilakukan oleh terapis dalam proses konseling maupun psikoterapi. Self disclosure mencerminkan usaha dari terapis untuk bersikap lebih terbuka dengan menceritakan pengalaman maupun pengetahuan secara proaktif melaui perasaan, pikiran dan fisik terhadap klien sehingga diharapkan klien dapat menceritakan pengalaman, persepsi atau pengetahuannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran sederhana tentang skema proses dan manfaat dari tekhnik self disclosure dalam proses konseling. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan 1 subjek penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil skema proses dan proses evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa tekhnik self disclosure efektif untuk menggali informasi tentang yang sedang dialami  subjek. Subjek menjadi lebih terbuka dan mudah mengungkapkan perasaan setelah teknik self disclosure diberikan, proses tersebut dapat dilihat melalui skema proses dan evaluasi.

Abstrack. Self disclosure is one of the techniques or skills commonly used by the therapist in counseling or psychotherapy process. Self disclosure reflects the effort from the therapist to disclose, to share his/her expericence or knowledge in a proactive way through feeling, mind and physical that make client can easily open their experience or their story. This research aimed to describe the process scheme and the benefit of self disclosure in counseling process. Qualitative methode with single subject is used to describe more clearly about the process.  The result shows that self disclosure is an effective way to explore subjects experience, feeling and perception.  Subject becomes easily share their experience after the interviewer self disclosure is given.
