Hubungan Strategi Koping dan Kecemasan pada Pemain Sepakbola

Abstract

Abstrak. Kecemasan adalah salah satu faktor yang cenderung mempengaruhi penampilan seorang atlet. Rasa cemas muncul akibat ketidaksinkronan antara tuntutan lingkungan dengan kemampuan atlet untuk mengatasinya. Keadaan ini perlu diatasi, salah satunya melalui strategi koping. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara strategi koping dengan kecemasan yang dialami pemain sepakbola. Sebanyak 71 atlet sepakbola menjadi subjek dalam penelitian ini yang terdiri dari pemain Tim Nasional U-17 dan tim sepakbola mahasiswa universitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara strategi koping dengan kecemasan yang dimiliki (-0,316; p<0,01). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin baik strategi koping yang dimiliki, semakin rendah kecemasan yang dimiliki.

 Abstract Anxiety has been regards as the factor relates to performance decline in athlete. Anxiety emerges from the situation gap between environmental demand and the athlete ability. This condition is need to be overcome, by lowering the level of anxiety using coping strategy, to increase performance. This research seeks to find out the correlation between coping strategy and anxiety in football player. The subjects consist of 71 junior professional footballers from U-17 Indonesia National Team and from college footballers. Result shows that there is significant correlation between coping strategy and anxiety (-0,316; p<0,01). Thus, it can be concluded that a higher ability in coping strategy is correlated in the anxiety level decline.
