Keterlibatan Ayah dan Strategi Regulasi Emosi pada Remaja Tunarungu

Abstract

Tunarungu adalah individu yang memiliki keterbatasan dalam pendengaran. Gangguan pendengaran yang dialami seringkali menjadi sumber dari berbagai masalah dalam aspek kehidupan sosial individu akibat kesulitan dalam berkomunikasi. Akibatnya hal ini dapat mengakibatkan gangguan relasi yang menciptakan masalah pada regulasi emosi. Hal ini dapat memengaruhi kesejahteraan hidup penyandang tunarungu. Satu hal yang dapat membantu mengatasi hal ini adalah keterlibatan ayah. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan ayah, melalui dimensi-dimensinya yang mencakup engagement, accessibility, dan responsibility dapat membantu perkembangan strategi regulasi emosi – yang terdiri atas cognitive reappraisal dan expressive suppression. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau hubungan antara keterlibatan ayah pada strategi regulasi emosi pada remaja tunarungu dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif yang dilakukan terhadap 84 partisipan dengan karakteristik penyandang tunarungu berusia 10 sampai 21 tahun. Hasil uji statistika menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan ayah memiliki hubungan positif dengan strategi cognitive reappraisal pada remaja tunarungu, dan tidak memiliki hubungan dengan strategi expressive suppression. Selain itu, dalam penelitian ini, peneliti juga melakukan uji korelasi antar dimensi variabel, serta uji beda terhadap data demografis.
