Abstract

Peneliti menggunakan The Cochrane Collaboration’s tool for assessing risk of bias in randomised trials untuk menilai resiko bias penelitian.

The purpose of this study was to identify the efficacy of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to improve emotion regulation for individuals with psychological disorders. The study method was a meta-analysis study with 11 international research articles. This research involved 507 participants from all of the previous studies. DBT intervention was given to the participants yet there were some studies used DBT-skill training programs. Researchers used The Cochrane Collaboration's tool for assessing the risk of bias in randomized trials to evaluate risk of bias. Data analysis of mean, standard deviation, and a total sample of control groups and intervention groups, using Jamovi 2 software and shows effect size hedge’s g values -,983 (95% CI –2,161 – ,259) and heterogeneity value I2 =  97,15%. Also, it showed egger’s bias P-value ,009 (P < ,05), which explained a study bias. Results of the study emphasize that this study had a large effect size in which DBT is effective in improving emotion regulation for individuals with psychological disorders. This meta-analysis study had the lack of negative findings research and thus further meta-analysis research is necessary because it is also found an inconsistent finding.
