Peran Stres yang Dialami Orang Tua dan Welas Diri terhadap Kepuasan Hidup Selama Pandemi Covid-19

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 dan perubahan yang menyertainya mendatangkan dampak bagi semua orang, termasuk orang tua yang diharuskan beradaptasi dengan metode pembelajaran baru dan kebiasaan baru. Proses beradaptasi ini mendatangkan stres bagi orang tua, ditandai dengan keluhan yang cukup banyak, dan jika tidak ditangani dengan coping yang tepat akan mendatangkan burnout, dan menurunkan kepuasan hidup orang tua. Welas diri merupakan salah satu cara untuk menangani stres sehingga membuat kepuasan hidup tetap terjaga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasional yang bertujuan secara empiris melihat pengaruh stres yang dialami oleh orang tua dan welas diri yang dimiliki terhadap kepuasan hidup selama masa pandemi. Alat ukur Parenting Stress Scale, Skala Welas Diri dan Satisfaction with Life Scale yang telah diadaptasi digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 154 orang tua yang didapat dengan metode convenience sampling. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi berganda dengan hipotesa alternatif diterima sehingga hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwa stres yang dialami oleh orang tua bersama-sama dengan welas diri memengaruhi kepuasan hidup sebesar 3.8%. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat memberikan rekomendasi kepada orang tua bagaimana menangani stres serta menjaga kepuasan hidup selama pandemi.

 

The Covid-19 pandemic and all the changes have an impact on everyone, including parents who are required to adapt to new learning methods and new habits. This adaptation process brings stress to parents, characterized by quite a lot of complaints, and if not handled with the right coping, it will cause burnout, and reduce parental life satisfaction. Self-compassion is a way to cope with stress to maintain life satisfaction. This study employs correlational design with the aim of empirically looking at the influence of stress experienced by parents and their self-compassion on life satisfaction during the pandemic. Parenting Stress Scale, Self-Compassion Scale and Satisfaction with Life Scale which have been adapted are used in this study with 154 parents as research subjects obtained by convenience sampling method. The results of the study, using multiple regression analysis with alternatif hypothesis received so it showed that the stress experienced by parents together with self-compassion affected life satisfaction 3.8%. Results suggest recommendation to parents on how to manage stress and improve life satisfaction within the pandemic.
